Insulation material TI 140 Decibel made of mineral glass fibre is predominantly intended for use inside buildings. The product is recommended for application in dividing walls and partitions. It is easily applicable between individual profiles of plasterboard systems thanks to its preferred production width of 625 mm, which is suitable for this mode of application.
With a structurally demanding high-rise building, it is necessary to use only genuinely functional and safe materials of a high standard. That is why the Knauf Insulation company was selected as the main supplier of insulation. The company provided TI 140 Decibel mineral insulation material with ECOSE® Technology for the construction, in three thicknesses of 40, 50 and 80 mm. This glass fibre insulation material fulfils the designated requirements for the building - it is intended mainly for interior use, and specified for application to internal walls as a filling for stud-frame structures or sound absorbent wall lining structures, and also to dividing partitions and walls with increased acoustic requirements for the construction of plasterboard systems. This insulation covers a total area of 11 000 m2 of interior walls and partitions.
The TI 140 Decibel product represents the absolute technological cutting edge in its line. compared with ordinary insulation, a wall with the same thickness of TI 140 Decibel achieves a higher sound absorption by 1 to 2 decibels, which is a significant difference in terms of acoustics. This insulation also meets the requirements for a higher level of fire protection - it has the highest fire classification A1. Its coefficient of thermal conductivity has the value of λ = 0.038 W/m.K. Other practical advantages of TI 140 Decibel mineral insulation are easy handling, minimal dust, and a smaller thickness, which is particularly important for saving office space. This fact goes hand in hand with lower costs for constructing walls.
Rollalong specialises in constructing off site developments, available in a variety of shapes and sizes. The lightweight, steel framed buildings can reach up to seven stories high and comply with all UK Building Regulations. Rollalong products are particularly popular within Ministry of Defence accommodation, so much so that in recent years it has delivered over 1,000 bedrooms for military personnel at sites across the country.
"The innovative design of Rollalong's modular buildings mean they require very specific insulation thicknesses that need to be pre-cut," comments Martin Sayers, managing director of Rollalong. "Knauf Insulation was prepared to go beyond the call of duty, by producing a bespoke insulation to meet our exact needs."
