REPORTING TO

KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

As part of the Central Technical department, reporting to the Process Systems Manager, the principal responsibilities of the successful candidate will include maintaining and developing the manufacturing information system (OSI PI) across the glass-wool manufacturing sites by :

• Identifying, recommending and implementing solutions and improvements to the OSI PI system to ensure that product quality and process efficiency are able to be continually improved.
• Liaise across the different management groups and functions for effective implementation of application projects, including manufacturing, engineering and energy management.
• Provide technical expertise and support to OSI PI users.
• Plan routine plant audit of the system

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

 

Knowledge and Experience :

• Degree in a science or engineering subject is preferred but candidates having relevant experience in IT, Technical and/or Production roles will be considered.
• Candidates must have excellent Excel skills including knowledge of VBA, good knowledge of manufacturing information systems (though training may be provided), and a successful track record of Value Added and Cost Reduction initiatives.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma or other analytical tools would be advantageous.
• Multi-lingual - especially French and English - would also be beneficial.

 

The candidate needs to be:

• Highly motivated, a self starter and have good problem solving skills.
• A good communicator with strong interpersonal and persuasion skills with an open mind for continuous improvement.
• Able to progress various activities simultaneously within a dynamic environment.
• Prepared to travel mainly within Europe and CIS.
