Internship in Market and Business Intelligence

KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Internship activities

 

• Analyze current construction market (new buildings, renovations) per major countries in Europe and potentially also Russia and CIS
• Monitor the evolution of the construction market based on key indicators (GDP, inflation, housing stock, consumer confidence, interest rates, energy/oil prices, etc). Data that will be used will need to be gathered from EUROSTAT, local statistic offices or other sources to be defined.
• Develop strategic reports that will allow management to better grasp the market evolution from different angles (support role to collect business requirements)
• Link the construction market evolution to the insulation market evolution
• Support project to launch market dynamics (Import/export) availability to each of the countries (limited to own country)
• create ad hoc country presentations using market and business intelligence data
• follow up financial results of competitors
• support market & business intelligence team in ongoing projects

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

 

Profile description

•  University degree or close to graduation in Economics, Civil engineering, Statistics (thesis project possible)
• Good knowledge of Excel, some experience in statistics and econometrics, some experience in the use of a statistical package like R, SAS, SPSS (preferably R, free statistical software) is appreciated but not mandatory
• Technical skills (visual basic, SQL, etc) could be useful
•  With interest or knowledge in the construction market
• Strong analytical thinking, precise, results driven, dynamic, initiative taker
• English mandatory, other languages are a plus

 

Working environment and timing

• Flexible, open, international, results driven
• Internship will last minimum 4 months (longer periods are preferred) with concrete possibility to launch new initiatives if added value is proven
• Start can be discussed

• A retribution of 1000€ per month is foreseen

Location

• Normally based in Mont St. Guibert, easy to reach from Brussels (20 minutes), European Marketing HQ
• Occasional travel in Europe might be required
